No Worker Left Behind (NWLB):

The Workforce Investment Act Adult Program has introduced The No Worker Left Behind Program. To qualify for the NWLB program, the displaced WIA Adult must take a skills assessment test. Qualified workers must pursue an associate’s degree or attend a technical training program in a high-demand occupation, emerging industry, or an entrepreneurship program. This program is a one-time offer for Michigan’s displaced workers that have three years to participate in this program. To find out more information click here.

Youth Programs:

  • The WIA Youth Program is a totally free federally funded program that was implemented to assist eligible youths that are in need of assistance with employment, education, training and career development. Click here to learn more about our Youth Program.

Jobs, Education & Training (JET) Program:

Work First-JET is designed to establish and maintain a connection to the labor market for temporary assistance for needy family recipients, non-custodial parents, and recipients of non-cash assistance such as child daycare, Medicaid, and Food Stamps. Eligible individuals include those receiving family independence program cash assistance, non-cash assistance, or non-custodial parents who are referred by the friend of the court who have child support arrearages due to the lack of employment or underemployment. JET is a curriculum based program that provides career counseling, employability skills, and self-directed job search assistance to individuals who are transitioning from welfare to work. The program offers a supportive environment for participants seeking employment- with access to employment openings, phones, computers, transportation, and more.
